This limited edition print of Chris Karamesines is signed by both the artist Jeff Caudle as well as Chris Karamesines.
Chris Karamesines (born November 11, 1931) is an American drag racer and one of NHRA's early pioneers and nicknamed inThe Golden Greekin or just simply inGreekin. In 2009, he became the first driver in NHRA history to compete and become the fastest driver at over 78 years old at the final event of the 2009 season at Pomona driving in the Top Fuel category. But he would lose in the first round against Brandon Bernstein. The following year, he made an attempt at Firebird International Raceway in Arizona and made the field, but again lost in the first round. Karamesines would break his own record in 2018 at Brainerd Raceway, running a 305-mile per hour pass at 86 years old.
Jeff Caudle, the artist was well known around the NHRA circuit in the 80's to late 90's as he did paintings and prints of several NHRA drivers to include Golden Greek Chris Karamesines, Big Daddy Don Garlits, and Shirley Muldowney. He also did a inSpeed Collectionin that included inFlight at Phoenixin and pictures rising Pro Stock star Jim Yates lighting up the tires on his DynoMax-sponsored Firebird on the way to a qualifying run that produced a 7.15-second pass at 192 mph. He owned JC Studios Motorsport Art in Grand Chain Illinois.
